Automotive Technology

Course Description
The Automotive Technology program introduces students to the Automotive Service Industry. The course focuses on developing the hands-on and intellectual skills required of an entry-level technician. This course is NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) certified. Students who meet the academic and employability skills qualifications may apply for the AYES (Automotive Youth Educational Systems) Program.

Program Content
Topics of study include Tools/Fasteners, Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Electrical and Electronics Systems, Engine Repair, Engine Performance, Vehicle Maintenance and Reconditioning, Heating and Air Conditioning.

This program integrates science, math, communication and technical skills with on the job training so that students apply and enhance their classroom experience
